Getting there: West Islay, on Loch Indaal. A 2.6km shoreside path for walking and cycling runs from Port Charlotte. From elsewhere on the island a car is the practical option; it is under 30 minutes' drive from the Port Askaig ferry and about 30 minutes from Islay Airport.
