What we collect and why

• Contact form: your name, email address and message, so we can reply. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who write to us.
• Update sign-ups: your email address and the page you signed up on, so we can email you when we publish or update guides. Our legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by replying “unsubscribe” to any email or writing to contact@proofandcut.co.uk.
• Server logs: our host records standard request data (such as IP address, browser and the page requested) to run and secure the site. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site working.

The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. We do not sell your data or use it for any other purpose.

Who processes it

Three companies process data for us under their data processing terms: Vercel hosts the site, Cloudflare sends the email that a form submission creates, and Google (Gmail) holds the inbox where submissions arrive.

Transfers outside the UK

We and these providers are based in the United States, so your data is processed outside the UK. The providers use the transfer safeguards that UK data protection law requires, as set out in their data processing terms.

How long we keep it

Enquiries: up to two years after our last exchange with you. Sign-ups: until you unsubscribe. Server logs: as long as the host keeps them, usually days to weeks.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw consent. Email contact@proofandcut.co.uk; we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Age

This site is about alcohol and is intended for adults aged 18 or over. Please do not sign up or contact us if you are under 18.
