Distilleries on Arran
Arran has two whisky distilleries: Lochranza in the north and Lagg in the south. Both offer bookable tours and have cafés. The ferry route matters when planning either visit: all mainland sailings currently use Troon during the Ardrossan closure.

Planning a visit
Book the ferry before committing to tour times. CalMac lists 80 minutes for Troon–Brodick and 30 minutes for Claonaig–Lochranza. Ardrossan has no sailings from 7 September to 8 October 2026; the Arran service uses Troon instead. The Claonaig–Lochranza route also has a planned interruption on 1 October 2026. Lagg puts the distance between the two distilleries at 25 miles. We suggest one tour on an arrival day or an overnight stay to visit both without a tight return connection. Both standard 75-minute tours are listed at £23.62 per adult, so choose by route and whisky interest rather than price. Lagg is the clearer choice if you specifically want to learn about its peated whisky.
