Distilleries in Campbeltown
Campbeltown has three whisky distilleries: Springbank, Glen Scotia and Glengyle, which makes Kilkerran. All three advertise visitor tours. Springbank's tours continue through its production pause from early September to December.

Planning a visit
Plan the journey to Kintyre before booking tours. CalMac confirms that the Ardrossan–Campbeltown service is not operating in summer 2026; do not build an itinerary around that crossing. Its alternatives include Portavadie–Tarbert and travel via Arran and Lochranza–Claonaig, with separate connections to arrange. We suggest two tours in one day or two days for all three. Springbank's one-hour tour is £15 and Kilkerran's is £12, making either a lower-cost introduction than an extended tasting. Check production dates if seeing machinery running is important: Springbank is in its autumn pause, while Glengyle's booking page describes a January-to-late-September pause without a precise restart date.
