Is it worth visiting?
Suits anyone driving the A9 north of Inverness, or arriving by train at Tain, who wants a standard one-hour tour with two drams. At £26 with a group of no more than 12, the price is typical for a Scotch whisky distillery tour. Families can come, but children are allowed on the Classic Tour only. Skip it if you want an advanced or extended tasting: in winter the Classic Tour is the only bookable experience.

- From September to May it opens Monday to Friday only, so there are no off-season weekend visits
- In winter the Classic Tour is the only bookable experience

- The visitor centre is fully accessible, but the historic production buildings have limitations; contact the distillery before booking if this affects you
- No café on site; eat in Tain
