Is it worth visiting?
Not as a visit: the brand home, tours, shop and bistro have closed, so there is nothing to see on site. If you hold a tour voucher, convert it to online credit through the distillery's customer care team. If you want a distillery visit in Cumbria, other producers list tours on their own websites: Shed One Distillery in Ulverston, Pennington's Spirits in Kendal and Grasmere Distillery. Check each booking page before you travel.

Planning the visit
- Booking
- There is nothing to book. The Lakes Distillery says its brand home has closed, including distillery tours and experiences. Tour gift vouchers can be converted to their money value and spent on the distillery's online shop: email info@lakesdistillery.com with the last four digits of the 16-digit code on the back of the voucher.
- Opening
- Closed to visitors. The distillery shop and bistro have also closed.
- Getting there
- The distillery is at Setmurthy, near Bassenthwaite Lake, off the A66. It no longer receives visitors, so do not travel there expecting a tour, shop or bistro.
